IQ Option Accounts in Nigeria: Demo, Real, VIP and Islamic Explained
IQ Option gives you one login for two accounts: a free demo and a real account funded with your own money. You can hold one real account only. VIP and the Islamic swap-free setting both sit on top of that real account.

Demo vs real account
The demo and the real account run on the same platform and show the same real market prices. What is different is the money. A demo account starts with a free $10,000 virtual balance, tops back up to $10,000 whenever it runs low, and any profit made there is virtual: it cannot be withdrawn. A real account uses money you deposit yourself, so trades affect your actual balance, and the feel of trading changes once real money is on the line.
Both accounts share one login. Click the balance in the top right of the traderoom to switch between demo and real at any time. The real account also brings identity verification into the picture: IQ Option will not release a withdrawal until your documents are checked, something the demo never asks for. Opening your real account from Nigeria
Your real account activates the moment you make your first deposit. There is no separate sign-up step for it: once you deposit at least NGN 14,000, the platform switches from demo money to your own. IQ Option allows one real account per person. A second account can get all your accounts blocked and your trades voided, so do not open another one, even to chase a bonus or a VIP target.
Can you change your account currency?
No. Your first deposit also fixes your account currency, either NGN, USD, GBP or EUR, and that choice is locked for good afterwards. Pick NGN if you plan to pay with OPay, PalmPay or a Nigerian bank. A 4% conversion fee applies whenever the currency you deposit or withdraw in does not match your account currency.

IQ Option VIP account
VIP is a status IQ Option adds to your real account once you reach its deposit and volume targets. You do not apply for it, and IQ Option can change or cancel its benefits at any time.

Trading volume means the total size of trades you open, not profit. NGN figures are approximate; IQ Option's own conversion decides the exact number.

What VIP is not
You cannot buy VIP. Paid "VIP signal" groups, people selling "VIP accounts", and anyone messaging you first on WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram or LinkedIn claiming to be your account manager are not IQ Option. Opening extra accounts to reach VIP faster gets you terminated.
Islamic (swap-free) account
The Islamic account is a swap-free mode you switch on inside the platform. On a Nigerian account we checked in September 2026, it showed as a toggle in the traderoom header: a moon icon marked ON and OFF, with a panel reading "Islamic account. Trade in accordance with Islamic finance principles."
How to switch it on
- Open the traderoom.
- Tap the moon icon at the top.
- Turn the Islamic account toggle on.
No fee was shown when switching it on, and it could be switched on with a zero balance, before making any deposit. You can switch it off again with the same toggle. While it is on, no overnight swap is charged, though spreads and other commissions still apply.
Some assets become unavailable while Islamic mode is on. The platform shows "Asset unavailable" with a Disable button, meaning you would need to switch the mode off first to trade that asset. IQ Option does not guarantee that the swap-free account meets the rules of any particular faith, so check with your own scholar.
Fees that depend on your account
Three fees apply depending on how you use your account. None of them apply to the demo.

How to close or delete your IQ Option account
You close your IQ Option account from your profile settings. Closing is the nearest thing to deleting it, because some of your data stays on file (see below).
- Log in to your account.
- Go to Profile, then Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Select Close account.
Before you close:
- Withdraw your balance. An active bonus blocks withdrawals until the wagering requirement is done or the bonus is cancelled; see our promo codes guide for how that works.
- Close any open positions.
IQ Option can also end the relationship from its side, with 15 days' written notice. Once closed, IQ Option keeps your KYC documents and transaction records for 7 years because of anti-money-laundering rules, so that data stays on file for the whole period. Worried about swap fees?
Switch on Islamic mode from the traderoom. It removes overnight swap charges, though spreads and other commissions still apply, and some assets become unavailable while it is on.
VIP only makes sense if you already trade at that volume. Never deposit extra money or open extra trades just to reach it.
