OPay, PalmPay, bank transfer, and 10 Nigerian banks are accepted. The minimum deposit is NGN 15,200 (~$10) and withdrawals to local accounts arrive in 1–24 hours. Two things cause nearly every problem Nigerian traders encounter: missing KYC verification and the same-method withdrawal rule. Both are explained in full below.

How to Deposit on IQ Option — Step by Step

Step 1: Choose your account currency (first deposit only)

Before selecting a payment method on your first ever deposit, IQ Option shows a currency selection screen: NGN, EUR, GBP, or USD. This is shown once and applies permanently to your account.

This choice is permanent. IQ Option states clearly: “You will not be able to change the currency of your account after your first deposit.” Nigerian traders should select NGN. With an NGN account your balance, deposits, and withdrawals are all in naira — no currency conversion applies to local methods.

Step 2: Select your payment method and enter the amount

The deposit screen groups methods into three sections: Recommended (bank transfer, OPay), Crypto Deposit, and Other Methods (PalmPay, Mastercard, Visa, Neteller, Skrill). Select the method you want, enter your NGN amount (minimum NGN 15,200), and fill in your real name, real surname, and phone number in international format (234XXXXXXXXX).

If you are a new account holder, the IQWELCOME welcome bonus is automatically applied on the deposit screen. You can remove it or swap it for another promo code if you have one — one promo per deposit. The bonus percentage is tiered by deposit amount: 50% for NGN 15,200, increasing to 100% for larger amounts.

Step 3: Complete the payment — by method

Bank transfer

After clicking Proceed to Payment you are redirected to a Kora payment page titled “Make a Transfer.” This page shows a Nigerian bank account to transfer to:

  • Deposit bank: VFD (VFD Microfinance Bank)
  • Account Holder: FIN-CHKOUT (Kora’s payment processing entity)
  • Account Number: provided on screen

Open your own banking app and transfer the exact NGN amount shown. The page warns explicitly: overpayment means only the invoice amount is credited and the excess is refunded; underpayment means nothing is credited and the full amount is refunded. After completing the transfer in your banking app, return to the Kora page and click I have paid. Your IQ Option balance updates once the transfer is verified, typically within 1–15 minutes.

OPay

After clicking Proceed to Payment you are redirected to a Kora checkout page. Under “Pay With OPay,” enter your OPay phone number (+234 format) and your 6-digit OPay login password, then click Next. The payment is processed within the Kora/OPay flow. If you do not have an OPay account there is a “I have no OPay account” link on the same page. You have approximately 30 hours to complete the payment before the session expires.

PalmPay

After clicking Proceed to Payment you are redirected to PalmPay’s own checkout. Enter your PalmPay mobile number (+234 format) and follow the PalmPay steps. If you do not have a PalmPay account, there is a “Switch to Bank Transfer” option on the same page.

Crypto

After clicking Proceed to Payment you receive a wallet address for your chosen asset. The platform note states: “You can use the wallet address on the next page an unlimited number of times.” Crypto wallet addresses on IQ Option are permanent — you can reuse the same address for future deposits of the same asset. Send the exact cryptocurrency amount from your own wallet. Deposit is credited once the blockchain confirms the transaction, typically 5–60 minutes. Note from the platform: when depositing via crypto, the cryptocurrency is converted to your account currency.

Neteller

Enter your Neteller email address directly on the IQ Option deposit screen. No external redirect. You can check the option to link your Neteller account for faster future payments. Click Deposit to process immediately.

Visa / Mastercard

Enter your card number, expiry date, CVC, and cardholder name. For Visa, KYC verification must be complete before the card deposit is accepted — this is the standard IQ Option identity verification process (NIN, passport, or driver’s licence), not a separate extra step.

Withdrawal Methods Available in Nigeria

The minimum withdrawal is NGN 15,500 (~$10) for local methods. The first withdrawal per calendar month is free. All subsequent withdrawals in the same month incur a 2% fee.

The Same-Method Withdrawal Rule

This is the single rule that causes the most confusion and rejected withdrawals among Nigerian IQ Option users. It is not optional, and it applies without exception.

Rule: You must withdraw using the same method you used to deposit.

If you deposited via OPay, you must withdraw via OPay. If you deposited via bank transfer through GTBank, you must withdraw to that same GTBank account. Attempting to redirect funds to a different method will be rejected before processing begins.

What this means in practice

The rule applies at the method level and, for bank transfers, at the account level. You cannot deposit through OPay and withdraw to Zenith Bank. You cannot deposit through Access Bank and withdraw through PalmPay. The withdrawal path must mirror the deposit path exactly.

If you have used multiple deposit methods across different sessions, each withdrawal will be matched to the method used for that portion of the funds. For simplicity, use one method consistently.

Why this rule exists

The same-method rule is an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance requirement, not an arbitrary platform restriction. It ensures that funds return to their source rather than being redirected to unconnected accounts. Every regulated broker operating internationally applies some version of this rule.

What to do if your preferred bank is not on the withdrawal list

If you bank with an institution not among the 10 supported banks, OPay and PalmPay are the practical alternatives. Both accept inbound transfers from any Nigerian bank, and both can be registered quickly. Use OPay or PalmPay for your deposit, and your withdrawal will route to the same wallet. The registration name on your wallet must match your IQ Option account name exactly.

KYC Verification — Do This Before Your First Withdrawal

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is a legal requirement IQ Option must complete before releasing funds. It is not a penalty or an obstacle.

Do not wait until you want to withdraw to start KYC. Verification takes 1–3 business days. If you submit documents the same day you request your first withdrawal, you will wait up to 3 days before the withdrawal is processed. Submit documents when you open your account.

What documents are accepted

IQ Option accepts any one of the following:

  • National Identity Number (NIN) — the slip or card issued by NIMC
  • International passport — the bio-data page
  • Driver’s licence — front and back

The document must be valid (not expired), clearly photographed with all four corners visible, and the name must exactly match the name on your IQ Option account. Do not photograph documents from a screen — IQ Option’s verification system flags this. A selfie or liveness check may also be required depending on account activity level.

Address verification

IQ Option may request proof of address — a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 90 days — for accounts requesting larger withdrawals or flagged for additional review. It is not required for all accounts, but having it ready avoids delays if requested.

How to submit

Log in to your account → click your profile icon → navigate to Verification → upload the required document photos. IQ Option will email you when verification is complete. You can also track status in the Verification section of your account settings. For KYC-specific issues contact IQ Option support at support@iqoption.com.

Common KYC rejection reasons

Most KYC rejections fall into five causes: blurry or cropped document photos; expired document; name on the document does not match the IQ Option account registration name exactly (including middle names); document photographed from a screen; or a failed liveness check. If your submission is rejected, support will tell you the specific reason — resubmit with the issue corrected rather than repeating the same submission.

Fees, Limits & What to Expect

Withdrawal fees

WithdrawalFee
First withdrawal per calendar monthFree
Subsequent withdrawals (same calendar month)2% of amount (min. $1, max. $30 / NGN 47,620)
International wire transfer$31 flat fee

The calendar month resets on the 1st. If you make your second withdrawal on the 31st of one month and another on the 1st of the next, both are treated as first withdrawals (free).

Deposit limits

Inactivity fee

IQ Option charges €10 per month after 90 consecutive days without account activity. Activity means a new deposit or an open/closed trade. Logging in alone does not count. If your account balance falls below €10, the fee is limited to the remaining balance. Zero-balance accounts are not charged.

Account currency and FX

Before your first deposit, IQ Option asks you to choose your account currency: NGN, EUR, GBP, or USD. This choice is permanent — it cannot be changed after your first deposit. Nigerian traders who select NGN will have all deposits, withdrawals, and balances in naira with no FX conversion on local methods. If you selected USD, EUR, or GBP at registration, a 4% FX conversion fee applies when depositing or withdrawing in NGN. Crypto deposits are always converted to your account currency at IQ Option’s internal rate regardless of account currency.

Before You Submit Your Withdrawal — Check This First

Run through this list before submitting a withdrawal request. Each unchecked item is a reason for rejection or delay.

Pre-withdrawal checklist

0 of 6 checked — complete all items before submitting

Why Your Withdrawal Was Rejected or Is Delayed

Most withdrawal problems fall into one of five categories. Each has a clear resolution.

KYC verification not completed or still pending

This is the most common cause. IQ Option will not release funds to an unverified account under any circumstances.

Fix: Go to account settings → Verification → upload your NIN, passport, or driver’s licence. Allow 1–3 business days. Contact support at support@iqoption.com to expedite if urgent.

Attempted to withdraw to a different method than the deposit

The same-method rule is enforced at the payment system level and is not overridable by customer support. A withdrawal to a different method will be rejected automatically.

Fix: Submit a new withdrawal request to the same method and account used for your original deposit. If that account no longer exists (e.g. a closed bank account), contact IQ Option support directly — they have a documented procedure for this case.

Name mismatch between IQ Option account and withdrawal account

The wallet or bank account name must match your IQ Option registration name character-for-character, including middle names if present on the IQ Option account.

Fix: Verify the name on both accounts. If there is a discrepancy in your IQ Option account (e.g. a spelling error at registration), contact support to request a name correction before attempting withdrawal again.

Active bonus wagering requirement is locking the balance

If you activated a deposit bonus, the deposited portion of your balance is locked until the wagering requirement is met — 40× the bonus amount in Digital/Turbo/Blitz options trades. CFD trades do not count toward this requirement. If you choose to forfeit the bonus instead, be aware that cancelling an active bonus can affect your available balance — check the impact before confirming.

Fix: Check your bonus status in the account section. You can see the remaining wagering amount required. Complete the wagering requirement first, or contact support before forfeiting to understand exactly how your balance will be affected.

Withdrawal is pending but no rejection notice received

Withdrawals within the 1–24 hour window are normal. Processing involves IQ Option’s internal payment queue, the payment intermediary, and your bank’s own clearing system. Weekend submissions may take until the next business day. Larger-than-usual withdrawal amounts may also take longer than smaller amounts.

Fix: Wait the full 24 hours before contacting support. If 24 hours have passed without credit, contact IQ Option support at support@iqoption.com with your withdrawal request ID (visible in your transaction history).

Wagering requirements — read before activating any bonus

Both IQWELCOME and 2026IQ carry a wagering requirement of 40× the bonus amount. Only Digital Options, Turbo Options, and Blitz Options trades count toward this requirement — CFD positions do not count. The requirement must be completed within 30 days of activation. If not completed, the bonus and any profits attributable to it are forfeited. Activating any bonus also locks your deposited funds until the wagering requirement is met. If you are not certain you will complete the wagering requirement, deposit without entering a code. For the full breakdown of active codes see the IQ Option Nigeria promo codes guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum deposit for IQ Option in Nigeria?

The minimum deposit is NGN 15,200 (~$10) across all payment methods including bank transfer, OPay, PalmPay, Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, and cryptocurrency. The demo account is completely free — no deposit required.

How long does an IQ Option withdrawal take in Nigeria?

Withdrawals to OPay, PalmPay, and local Nigerian bank accounts typically arrive within 1–24 hours of request. Visa/Mastercard withdrawals are processed instantly by IQ Option, though actual clearance depends on your issuing bank. The first withdrawal per calendar month is free; subsequent withdrawals incur a 2% fee (min. $1, max. NGN 47,620).

Why was my IQ Option withdrawal rejected?

The five most common reasons: KYC verification not completed; attempting to withdraw to a different method than the deposit; name mismatch between your IQ Option account and withdrawal account; withdrawal amount below the minimum (NGN 15,500 for local methods); active bonus wagering requirement locking the balance. See the troubleshooting section above for the fix for each.

Can I withdraw to a different bank than I deposited from?

No. IQ Option requires withdrawal via the same method and account used for the deposit. This is an AML compliance requirement that applies to all users. If you deposited via OPay, you must withdraw via OPay. If the original deposit account no longer exists, contact IQ Option support directly for guidance.

How do I deposit with OPay on IQ Option?

Select OPay on the IQ Option deposit screen, enter the NGN amount (minimum NGN 15,200), fill in your real name, real surname, and phone number, then click Proceed to Payment. You are redirected to a Kora payment page where you enter your OPay phone number (+234) and 6-digit OPay login password. Complete the steps and the deposit is credited once processed.

Do I need to verify my identity before withdrawing?

Yes. KYC verification (NIN, international passport, or driver’s licence) is required before any withdrawal is processed. Verification takes 1–3 business days. Upload your documents when you first open your account, not when you are ready to withdraw, to avoid delays.

What fees does IQ Option charge for withdrawals in Nigeria?

The first withdrawal per calendar month is free. Subsequent withdrawals in the same month cost 2% of the withdrawal amount (minimum $1, maximum $30 / NGN 47,620). International wire transfers carry a flat $31 fee.

Which Nigerian banks are supported?

The 10 supported banks are: GTBank, Zenith Bank PLC, UBA, Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, ECOBANK, First Bank PLC, Kuda Microfinance Bank, Union Bank PLC, and Wema Bank PLC. If your bank is not on this list, OPay and PalmPay are the practical alternatives — both accept inbound transfers from any Nigerian bank.

Does IQ Option charge a deposit fee?

IQ Option charges no deposit fee. If you chose a non-NGN account currency at registration, a 4% FX conversion fee applies when depositing in NGN. Nigerian traders who selected NGN at first deposit are not subject to this fee on local methods. Your bank or e-wallet may apply its own transfer fees, which are separate from IQ Option’s charges.

Can I change my account currency after the first deposit?

No. IQ Option asks you to choose your account currency — NGN, EUR, GBP, or USD — before your very first deposit. The platform states this choice is permanent and cannot be changed afterwards. Nigerian traders should select NGN to avoid FX conversion fees on local deposits and withdrawals.
